Keep Going and Growing

Continuing to learn and reflect through all seasons of life….

Post-Mission Trip

I just spent a week in Costa Rica on a mission trip. One of the best weeks of my life. This is my fourth mission trip and I remember when I first started considering going on one but then paused when I found out the average cost. What I didn’t understand then was all the blessings, teamwork, and personal growth that happens during missions.

In the U.S., we have so much materialism that often times we don’t often rely on God like those with less materials do. Keep in mind, those with less stuff often have more in other areas-more joy, more faith and more endurance just to name a few. Here we rely more on Drs, ambulances, money, etc. and although those are not bad things, when we rely so heavily on them, we block experiencing and witnessing opportunities of divine healings and resurrections!

I don’t really have words to express what I have all seen and experienced one the mission field. I often have a few good cry sessions when I get back. One, because during the time there, I’m so busy experiencing I don’t have time to process. Two, the heaviness of what I’ve seen/heard is heart-breaking yet awe-inspiring, and needs to be released.

If you have ever considered going on a mission trip but are unsure, I’d love to answer any questions you have. If you have no interest or desire to go on a mission trip, I’m going to ask that you consider praying and/or financially donating to an organization that is in the thick of lifting others up, such as https://www.transformacr.org/partner-with-us
